Canon In D: Another Wedding Music Clip

Hi everyone. I thought it would be fun to share another music clip I just finished. This classical composition – titled ‘Canon In D’ is a very popular wedding choice, dating back to the 1800’s. Composer is Johann Pachelbel.

Here is only a small bit of this beautiful tune played on my silver flute:

Enjoy My New Brahms Audio Clip

Hi everyone. While I am still figuring out how all this digital technology works on a new computer….please enjoy this audio clip I just finished. Johannes Brahms is the composer. ‘Blessed Are They’ is the composition.

Brahms has always been one of my favorite classical composers. His music is soothing, intricate, and brings out the best in a flute. I only use my musical ability to bring life to his magic.

Hope you find it equally soothing and insightful…

Musician Stretching Exercises

Hi everyone. Well, the July 4th festivities are over and it’s time to start practicing for upcoming gigs. It’s also time to remember the importance of taking care of our livelihood – our hands. Here are some stretching exercises that I find helpful. See if they help you…

Prayer stretch.
Simply place your hands together as if you’re praying.
Gently press your right hand toward the left, stretching out your left tendons. Hold for five seconds. Gently return to original position.

Repeat this exercise by pressing your left hand toward the right, stretching out your right-hand/arm tendons.

Finger stretches.
Gently stretch each finger individually until you feel a noticeable stretch. Do this by taking the opposite hand fingers to pull back on the finger tip(s). Hold for five seconds.

Also try doing all fingers at once. Put the fingers of your one hand over the tips of your opposite hand. Gently apply pressure, pulling your opposite-hand fingers towards you. Do this until you feel a stretch in your wrist area.

Prevent carpal tunnel syndrome by keeping your fingers, wrists, palms, and lower arms fluid. It only takes a few minutes and will do wonders.

Contracting/Expanding
This involves simply tightening your hands into a fist.
Then, open your hands and stretch your fingers as far as possible.
Do this five times.

Happy Hour Fun

Hi everyone. Today is another exciting day where I get a chance to perform live. For the past six years, I provide live entertainment for a private venue’s Happy Hour crowd.

Since today is pre-July 4th, our theme will be patriotic tunes. The flute fits in so perfectly for this genre.

Will go for now and provide an update later.

UPDATE:
I’m back! The holiday musical event ended with a marvelous rendering of “God Bless America”, complete with a touching sing-a-long. This patriotic tune touches people at a deep level.

After the performance, I was invited to stay and enjoy their Ice Cream Social gathering. Who can pass that up?! Fresh blueberries, cherries, and vanilla ice cream all made for a beautiful and tasty treat.

Enjoy your day! Thanks for visiting…
